Focused on enhancing employee experience and amplifying RBC’s culture, this engaging work environment is flexible with diverse space types that foster collaboration and empower employees by providing them with tools to be effective and productive.

To strengthen social cohesion and emphasize employee wellbeing, each level is anchored with a community hub knitting meeting and collaboration spaces together, culminating in a café overlooking the Mississippi River. RBC’s extensive art collection is woven throughout to reinforce wayfinding and neighborhood identity. Available to all RBC employees is an amenity floor which includes an auditorium, training rooms, recruiting suite, outdoor terrace, and dining area.

RBC’s art collection of over 400 pieces was originally curated with the human figure as its focus to encourage empathy in RBC employees by reflecting the rich cultural diversity and complexity of contemporary society. The collection is woven throughout the employee experience, creating neighborhood identities, acting as wayfinding landmarks, and forming a backdrop to daily activities.

The RBC Gateway Headquarters project is certified LEED Gold. This was achieved through an enhanced design process which resulted in a healthier office environment for staff and visitors, while respecting the sensitive ecosystems of our environment.

In addition to earning credits for an energy and water efficient workplace, strategic material selections and a scrutinized material manufacturing and distribution processes, the project earned multiple credits that focused on the employee experience and comfort including Beauty and Design, Ergonomic Approach, Acoustical Performance, Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies.
